Translator to Spanish

Description

The Spanish translator is responsible for translating technical software documentation and localizing the user interface of the Docebo learning platform in Spanish. The translator will mainly translate English content into Spanish and is responsible for the Spanish localization of the documentation and of the learning platform, The translator will keep the Spanish content up-to-date by keeping pace with any updates and additions made in English. The content to localize will include manuals (Knowledge Base), short videos, content communicating to customers what’s new in the product and the texts shown in the platform user interface (language keys), as well as any other content coming from the Marketing and the Customer Education departments.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality translated content that meets applicable standards (glossary and style guide) and is appropriate for its intended audience in Spanish
  • Analyze existing Spanish-translated content to review and improve it
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation/language keys requirements
  • Manage the Knowledge Base documentation in Spanish
  • Manage the release notes in Spanish
  • Maintain the internal language keys repository in Spanish
  • Work with the Marketing and Customer Education teams to provide content localized in Spanish
  • Perform language checks for correct language usage in the language keys already translated
  • Work independently and with the other translators in the team

 

Requirements

  • Experience in translating from English to Spanish
  • Fluent and used to working independently with Spanish and English
  • Use of CMS packages such as Zendesk
  • Use of translation software such as Lokalise
  • Experience in translating common forms of software documentation (conceptual guides, tutorials) and in translating language keys
  • Deep knowledge of translation techniques and principles, including glossaries and style guides
  • Strong self-editing skills – able to recognize errors in a variety of information deliverables

 

Nice to have

  • Fluent knowledge of German and ability to support the German translator with translation from English to German
